My face might not be familiar to you, but you've probably run into my work. I'm the author of four books and dozens of articles, essays, poetry, and fiction. You may have read my work when I was a travel blogger for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or seen my old school photography (I'm talking about really old school - wet plate; although my Instagram feed is pretty interesting too) at a gallery in Pittsburgh or the Finger Lakes.

I've given TEDx talks, been employed as an educational consultant for universities and textbook publishers and worked at every level of education for Ivy League to community college (for the record, I'm much more excited about the latter rather than the former). I've had 1000s of students cycle through my classrooms and served on Pennsylvania Senate Committees and non-profit boards.
